CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The Cedar Rapids Titans has hired former Detroit Lion Kyle Moore-Brown as its first head coach.

Moore-Brown had been the head coach for the La Cross Spartans. Earlier in his career, he spent two years with the NFL's Lions, then 15 years as a center in the Arena Football League.

Moore-Brown will lead the Titans in their inaugural year in the Indoor Football League, which has 22 teams and is based in Richmond, Va.

The 14-game season begins in March. The Titans are in the league's Great Lakes Division, which includes teams in Green Bay, Wis., Chicago and Bloomington, Ill.

The Titans have said they'll play the 2012 season at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena and hope to move to the renovated US Cellular Center in 2013.
