NORTH LIBERTY - Incoming Iowa basketball recruit Melsahn Basabe put on a show Tuesday night in his Prime Time League debut.
Basabe scored 36 points and grabbed 9 rebounds, despite his George Etre/Culvers team losing to Eric May's L.L. Pelling team 100-84.

Basabe is a 6'7" forward from Massachusetts. He scored in a variety of ways whether it was driving to the basket, grabbing offensive rebounds, or spotting up from behind the arc.
He originally committed to Fran McCaffery at Siena, but when McCaffery was hired by Iowa, Basabe followed.

Basabe says he's never been a loser in his life and he doesn't plan on losing at Iowa. He's only been in Iowa City about 10 days but he likes it, even though the weather is a little crazy sometimes.
