Andre Woolridge Applies to be Iowa Basketball Assistant CoachBy John Campbell
IOWA CITY - One of the all-time Iowa greats is interested in getting back to Hawkeye basketball.
Andre Woolridge has officially applied to be an assistant on Fran McCaffery’s new staff.
Andre Woolridge played point guard for the Iowa Hawkeyes from 1994 to 1997. After leaving Iowa, Woolridge played basketball for many years overseas. Andre is now located in Sacramento but would love to get back to the Midwest.
Also on Thursday, University of Iowa Head Basketball Coach Fran McCaffery has named Andrew Francis an assistant coach on his basketball staff. The hiring of Francis was announced Friday and becomes effective immediately.
Francis was an assistant coach under McCaffery at Siena for the past three years.
