Ames-It has not been a good four year run for Iowa State men's basketball coach Gregg McDermott. Monday, the man who hired him, athletic director Jamie Pollard, e-mailed Cyclones supporters and told them that he still backs McDermott. Her made the same statement at a routine, Monday news conference in Ames. McDermott says he will keep plugging along to get the ship turned around.
