Iowa State Baseball Tournament Starts Friday
DES MOINES (AP) - The Iowa state high school baseball tournament kicks off today at Principal Park in Des Moines.
Click HERE for full information. Class 2-A gets the action going. Half the field plays Friday and the other half plays Saturday. The tournament is sharing the field with the Iowa Cubs, who have home games Friday night and Saturday. The I-Cubs are gone beginning Sunday, and the tournament resumes on Monday with Class 1-A. Class 3 is on Tuesday, with 4-A on Wednesday. The four championship games are July 28th. Here's the schedule: Friday's games: 2A Noon -- Cherokee (28-2) vs. Bondurant-Farrar (16-15-1) 2 p.m. -- North Fayette (34-7) vs. Gladbrook-Reinbeck (23-6) Saturday's games: 2A 11:00 a.m. -- Mid-Prairie Wellman (27-11) vs. West Sioux (24-8) 1:00 p.m. -- Davenport Assumption (26-14) vs. Mount Ayr (24-4) Monday's games: 1A Noon -- Kee Lansing (38-6) vs. Lisbon (20-13) 2 p.m. -- Remsen St. Mary 8 p.m. -- Iowa Mennonite Kalona (25-3) vs. Lenox (22-7) Tuesday's games: 3A Noon -- Cedar Rapids Xavier (31-8) vs. Creston (19-13) 2 p.m.-- Mount Pleasant (35-3) vs. Sioux City Heelan (26-14) 6 p.m. -- West Delaware (36-3) vs. Saydel (22-14) 8 p.m. -- Knoxville (34-6) vs. Webster City (20-11) Wednesday's games: 4A Noon -- Urbandale (34-8) vs. Waterloo West (15-22) 2 p.m. -- Clinton (24-10) vs. Cedar Rapids Kennedy (23-17) 6 p.m. -- Ankeny (25-16) vs. Fort Dodge (24-17-1) 8 p.m. -- Davenport Central (30-6) vs. Indianola (21-19) More Good Stuff |
