ISU Point Guard Colvin Suspended
AMES (AP) - Iowa State basketball player Chris Colvin has been suspended, teammate L.A. Pomlee has been kicked off the team and starting center Justin Hamilton is sidelined by a concussion.
An Iowa State spokesman says coach Greg McDermott punished Colvin and Pomlee for violating team rules. He would not elaborate. Both players are reserves.
Hamilton, a 6-foot-11 sophomore, got hurt in Iowa State's 86-65 loss to Duke in Chicago on Wednesday night and will be out indefinitely. He is averaging 4.8 points and 3.4 rebounds and is shooting 77 percent from the field.
Colvin, a 6-3 freshman and the team's backup point guard, has played in all 14 game and is averaging 3.2 points. Pomlee, a 6-8 redshirt freshman, played in eight games, scoring seven points and grabbing nine rebounds.
