After some incredible plays, the Hawkeyes finished the 2009-2010 regular season 10-2. Here are the KCRG-TV9 Sports Team's picks for the TV9 Top 9 plays of this heart-racing season!

 

 #9 - Stanzi's Two TD Passes to Moeaki vs. Michigan

After missing three games with an ankle injury, tight end Tony Moeaki caught six passes for 105 yards and two TDs, including a 42-yarder with 12:56 left in the fourth quarter that ended up being the winning points.

 #8 - Vandenberg to McNutt TD at Ohio State

Freshman quarterback James Vandenberg added a feather to a terrific first college start when he fired a 10-yard bullet to Marvin McNutt. The score was tied at 24.

 #7 - Stanzi to Moeaki TD at Wisconsin

Trailing by a touchdown at halftime, the Hawkeyes began the third quarter by turning an interception into a tying touchdown pass from quarterback Ricky Stanzi to tight end Tony Moeaki.

 #6 - McNutt and DJK Long TDs vs. Indiana

 Iowa (9-0 for the first time in its history) trailed by 14 points twice for its biggest deficit of the season before rallying with 28 fourth-quarter points. Two of those scores were long touchdown passes from Ricky Stanzi to Marvin McNutt (92 yards) and Darren Johnson-Koulianos (66 yards), the latter putting the Hawkeyes up 28-24 with 11:38 to play.

 #5 - DJK's Kickoff Return for TD at Ohio State

Instead of willingly surrendering the roses and a guaranteed share of a Big Ten championship, the Hawkeyes answered on the next play when Derrell Johnson-Koulianos had a brilliant 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

 #4 - Tyler Sash's 'Ping-Pong' Interception vs. Indiana

Indiana fell victim to one of the more incredible interceptions ever seen at Kinnick Stadium — or anywhere — when safety Tyler Sash got his sixth pick of the season via a pass that bounced off several players from both teams before ending in his hands. He returned the pick for a score that cut Indiana’s lead to 21-14 in the third quarter and sparked the comeback.

 #3 - Game Winning Stanzi to McNutt at Michigan State

Ricky Stanzi connected with Marvin McNutt for a 7-yard touchdown pass as time expired and No. 7 Iowa remained undefeated with a 15-13 victory against Michigan State. The Hawkeyes were 8-0 for the first time in school history and had sole possession of first place in the Big Ten.

 #2 - Two Blocked Field Goals vs UNI

Broderick Binns and Jeremiah Hunter block two of Northern Iowa's field goal attempts in the closing seconds, allowing No. 22 Iowa to escape with a 17-16 victory.

#1 - Clayborn Blocks a Punt for TD at Penn State

Defensive end Adrian Clayborn rumbled 51 yards after blocking the punt to give Iowa an 11-10 lead with 12:21 left. Iowa left soggy Happy Valley with an 21-10 win over No. 5 Penn State, the Hawkeyes second straight upset of the Nittany Lions.
