Hamlin: "Life or basketball? Easy choice."

IOWA CITY - Saturday November 7th is a day Iowa Womens basketball player JoAnn Hamlin will never forget.
After having some knee pains Hamlin went to the trainer, she discovered her leg was 2 different colors.

She was taken to the ER and doctors found a blood clot in her leg. Blood clots can become life threatening if not dealt with properly.
Hamlin was given 1 night to make a decision on what to do. She chose an aggressive treatment called Lysis, where an enzyme was put in to her leg to hopefully eat away the clot. It worked.

But because JoAnn was put on blood thinners for a week she will now miss her entire Senior season of basketball.
Despite the fact she will be on the sidelines, she says there's no doubt she made the right decision.
"Its life or basketball, that's a pretty obvious answer," says Hamlin.

JoAnn says she may redshirt in hopes of playing again next year, if not she says she may get in to coaching.
