Cedar Rapids-It has been more than 30 years since Tony Dungy was a quarterback for the Minnesota Gophers, but he remembers his 4 games against the Hawkeyes like they were yesterday.
The Gophers won the first three games Dungy played in. In 1975 in Iowa City, Dungy passed for a couple of TDs and won the game.
1976, his senior year, the Gophers were leading the Hawks 12-0 at halftime, but Iowa rallied in the second half to win it 22-12. Dungy says it started a downward spiral for his team and he still remembers the bad feeling of losing Floyd of Rosedale to the Hawks.
