Solon-ACL knee injuries usually require surgery and sideline players for up to a year. Then there is Solon quarterback Wes Sleeper.
October 7th he tore an ACL in practice. Three weeks later with the help of a brace he was playing again on a limited basis. Things were going fine until about one week ago when he tore the ACL in his other knee.
So he adds another brace and plays both offense and defense in the Spartan's win against North Fayette. His father, Paul is hard pressed to explain his son's ability to play with no ACLs.
That's not all. Last winter Wes Sleeper's entire athletic career was threatened due to an tree cutting injury. A tree snapped up, and tore open the artery in his neck. He was hospitalized 4 days and for three months did nothing. Doctors then allowed him to work back into athletics. Yes, Wes Sleeper, bad knees and all. plans to answer the bell Saturday in the 2A championship game.
