Coe Makes NCAA Division III Football Playoffs

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - For the first time since 2005, the Kohawk football team has qualified for the NCAA Division III Football Playoffs. The 22nd-ranked Kohawks will travel to Collegeville, Minn. to face the fourth-ranked Johnnies of St. John's.St. John's hold a 3-0 lead in the all-time series between the two teams, with all three matchups coming in Collegeville during the NCAA Playoffs. The last time the two teams met was 2002, with St. John's coming away with a 45-14 win.

The Kohawks enter the playoffs with a 9-1 record, while finishing second in the Iowa Conference with a 7-1 conference record. The Johnnies, winners of the Minnesota Conference, are 10-0 overall.

Coe owns a 1-5 all-time record in the playoffs. Head Coach Steve Staker becomes the fourth different Kohawk head coach to lead a team into the playoffs.

Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. Saturday at Clemens Stadium in Collegeville.
