IOWA CITY - Hall of famer and former Hawkeye football coach Forest Evashevski is in failing health with liver cancer.
Iowa SID Phil Haddy said on Tuesday the outlook does not look good and Evy has little time left.

Evashevski coached 9 years at Iowa from 1952-1960. During that time he won 52 games, including 2 Rose Bowls. He's the only Iowa coach to ever win in Pasadena.

He retired in 1960 and became the Iowa Athletic Director, but many believe had he kept coaching he would have transformed the Hawkeyes in to a National power.

Evashevski is 91 years old.

KCRG's John Sears talked to legendary Hawkeye Broadcaster Bob Brooks about Evy and how he changed Iowa football.
