IOWA CITY - The first Bowl Championship Series rankings of the 2009 football season were released Sunday afternoon and the Iowa Hawkeyes are ranked sixth. The undefeated Hawkeyes also made the top ten list in both the Associated Press Top 25 Poll and the USA Today Top 25 Coaches' Poll released Sunday. (

The Hawkeyes' winning streak continues after Saturday's 20-10 victory over the University of Wisconsin in Madison. The 7 and 0 Hawkeyes head to East Lansing, Michigan to take on Michigan State on Saturday. Michigan State is riding three straight wins into its home game against unbeaten Iowa next weekend.
The Spartans had lost three straight games in September and looked like a long shot to have any chance in the Big Ten race. Now they're one of three teams with just one conference loss in the Big 10.
