AMES (AP) - Iowa State junior point guard Diante Garrett has suffered a bone chip in his right foot that will keep him out of action until late August.

Iowa State spokesman Michael Green says Garrett suffered the injury while working out earlier this week. Green says Garrett won't need surgery, but he'll have to stay off his injured foot for about six weeks.

Garrett is expected to make a full recovery by the start of official fall workouts, which won't begin until October.

Garrett started all 32 games last season for the Cyclones, averaging 9.8 points and 5 assists a game.
