CEDAR RAPIDS - After being washed out last summer, Cedar Rapids' Softball Hall of Fame returned to the ball diamond Sunday. Meeting at Ellis Field, the group inducted eight new members this year, seven from the '08 season and one from '09.

The event also helped raise funds for the group's headquarters which was damaged during last summer. Organizers say its great to see so much community support. Cedar Rapids' Softball Hall of Fame secretary Gregg Bosch tells TV9, "This is one of the best turnouts we've had at the hall of fame day and I think part of that is due to the fact we were flooded out in 08 and lots of people know that we were struggling and looking to rebuild so the community support is phenomenal..."

Along with the individuals, Armstrong's 14-inch squad from the 1980s was also honored at the event.
