Intriguing Pitcher at Showcase

Cedar Rapids-Chris Handke was an all conference center for the Iowa Conference champion Cornell Rams. The 6-11 junior from Bellevue also dabbled in baseball for the Rams.

He recently got some instruction at Perfect Game in Cedar Rapids, changed some mechanics and began pumping heat at 92 & 93 miles per hour.

It was that potential that got Handke an invitation to the National Pre-Draft Showcase put on by Perfect Game in Cedar Rapids on Monday.

Scouts from every major league got a chance to see Handke perform.

He plans to continue working on baseball and continue his Bio Chemistry / Molecular Biology major at Cornell.
