AMES - Iowa State football coach Gene Chizik will be named the new head coach at Auburn. Chizik told ISU athletic director Jaimie Pollard Saturday he is accepting the job. Pollard says he understands that this is his dream job, but he says the timing and the way it played out has been hurtful and disappointing.

Chizik was just 5-19 in his two years at Iowa State so it's a little shocking that he is about to take over one of the top college football programs in the country.

Chizik was the defense coordinator at Auburn form 2002-2004 ,and his 2004 defense led the nation in fewest points allowed. That 2004 defense allowed just 11 points a game and Auburn went undefeated.
