No 7th-inning Alcohol Ban for Bars Near 'The Cell' in Chicago

By KCRG Intern

CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago officials say they won't ask bars around U.S. Cellular Field to take a voluntary break from selling alcohol starting in the seventh inning when the White Sox return home for Game 3 of the postseason playoffs.

But Chicago Police Commander Gene Roy says police will strictly enforce illegal parking for Sunday's game. And he says they'll be tough on public alcohol consumption and driving under the influence.

The city's Office of Emergency Management and Communications says in a statement that a ban was envisioned only for a "home team clinch scenario." And no possible home clinch game remains for the White Sox.

If the White Sox win Sunday and Monday, they still have to go back to Tampa Bay on Wednesday.
