IOWA CITY - Iowa practice was open to reporters on Thursday, something that happens only once or twice a year.
Reporters got a look at quarterback Rick Stanzi, who is back practicing after missing several weeks with an injury to his right shoulder. But on Thursday he was on the field and throwing with the right arm. That's a good sign.
And a lot of eyes were on Number 23. That is runningback Shon Green who is returning to the team after a one year absence.
There had been reports that his weight had gotten out of hand during that time.
"I did see him in the spring he was a little heavy I didn't work in a carnival coach fry would of nailed it he wasn't in nose guard territory he would have been big for a linebacker. He looks like a Shonn Greene he looks like a running back," said Kirk Ferentz, Iowa coach.
Shon told our Scott Saville that he weighs 228.
