More Records Fall at State Track Meet

DES MOINES, IA -
It was another great day for local athletes at the state track meet, and once again Aaron Stockstell and Mid-Prairie stole the show.
Stockstell anchored the winning distance medley team in 3 minutes 26 seconds, their 3rd straight title in that event. That time was also the fastest time in the country this year.

The 4X200 boys team of Xavier also set a new meet record in class 3A, Colston, Wollner, Kramer, and Reed ran it in 1:29.08.

The Mt. Vernon girls took home the distance medley crown, Waverly-Shell Rock took 2nd.

Mt. Pleasant's Jordan Cotton won the 400 hurdles, as did Oelwein's Tashina McAllister.

Benton Community won the girls 4X200, while Marion's Drew Clark took 2nd in the shot put.

Dike New-Hartford's Hannah Will ms set a new meet record in the girls high jump, clearing 5 feet 10 1/4 inches.
