Was it the Same Gobbler?

Johnson County-Former NCAA wrestling champ Mark Ironside loves to spend his mornings (and evenings) turkey hunting.

Five days ago the turkeys were gobbling up a storm and one cautious gobbler approached his decoys, only to put on the brakes and head south. Maybe it saw the TV9 camera also in the blind.

Five days later Mark had Iowa NCAA wrestling champ Brent Metcalf in the blind.

There was no gobbling, but a "bearded one" came running up from our right, and then, just the like the gobbler of the previous hunt, it sensed something and turned away.

Metcalf, who is getting his first taste of turkey hunting, says he enjoys it.
He, Mark Ironside and other turkey hunters have until Sunday when the season closes.
