Hawks sweep Gophers in doubleheader

IOWA CITY, IA – The Iowa Hawkeye baseball team scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth to propel Black and Gold to a 10-5 triumph over Minnesota in game one of Saturday’s doubleheader at Duane Banks Field.
The Hawkeyes sent 11 batters to the plate erasing a one-run deficit as Iowa plated six runs and on six hits in the bottom of the sixth.
Pacing the Black and Gold in game one was Caleb Curry, Kurtis Muller, Justin Toole and Kody McManis. Toole extended his team-leading hitting streak to 18 games, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Curry went 3-for-4 with a home run and a double, two RBI and two runs scored. Curry now has a team-best 15 multi-RBI performances and 53 RBI. Muller went 2-for-3 with one RBI and a run. McManis went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run.
Iowa won game two of the doubleheader 6-1.
