Des Moines-Vivian Stringer is the very successful women's basketball coach at Rutgers University in New Jersey.

Before taking over the Scarlet Knights, Stringer built the Iowa Hawkeye program into a national power.

She says she was glad to be a part of those days in Iowa City. She thinks it forced the other Big Ten schools to upgrade their programs.

Stringer thinks athletic directors will never again be able to put women's basketball on the back burner.
