PARKERSBURG (AP) - Officials in Parkersburg are seeking volunteers to help new install playground equipment.

Nearly all of Parkersburg's school and city playground equipment was damaged or destroyed when a tornado struck the town last May.

New playground equipment was purchased through local fundraising efforts and a matching grant from a Missouri-based recreational equipment company. The project cost approximately $500,000.

Officials are asking volunteers to help install the playgrounds at two local parks in mid-to-late April.
