Blog: Day Three ... it was a long day

It was a long day today. 70 some odd miles and not many hills to speak of. In theory it sounds good, but maybe a few more smaller hills wouldn’t have been too bad, just so there would have been a break in peddling. But overall, it wasn’t too bad.

With the heat, we made as many stops as we could to restock in the food and beverage department. Shade was a premium. The more shade, the longer we stayed. I’ll admit that we’re all a little reader now after 3 days of 90 degrees.

We compared stories of twister hill- the biggest hill of the day, and the guys that opted for century told us what they saw. There has been little complaining, but we’re smiling at the end of the day. We are all looking forward to tomorrow’s shorter, flatter day.

I should clarify that even though I say flat, even the slightest change is noticeable. It may look flat, but start riding a bike along it, and you’ll learn how really not flat it is.
