Ol' Yeller vs. The Hill - RAGBRAI XXXVI

AMES - The Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa has reached the center of the state. Day three turned out to be a lot easier than the one before.

Tuesday's weather really cooperated, and the ride itself was much easier. Tuesday's journey went from Jefferson to Ames.

TV9's John Campbell has more from the RAGBRAI route.

What a day, what a sunrise. Many riders were on the road before 6:00 am. Rollin' until they hit Ogden.

But just after Ogden, The big hill, and really the only hill of the day, was coming out of the Des Moines River Valley.

Unfortunately John's trusty bike, Ol' Yeller, showed her age on the big hill. A cable snapped half way up the hill. But they did make it. Ten minutes and $15 later, they were off to Ames.
