DYSART, Iowa – After the wind storm in 2011, the Tama-Benton Coop was almost completely destroyed. The storm provided the business an opportunity to make some upgrades, and have now built six grain bins. The coop also upgraded their facilities, so 18 semis an hour can dump their grain. They plan to have all the construction done before the fall harvest.

“I wouldn't want to wish that on anybody to go through it but we are so much better now that we have gone through it,” said General Manager Mel Campbell. “The receiving capacities, the storage capacities those things that we've done and improved on weren’t even in our 15 year plan and we did them in two years "

The coop started in 1912.
