New Business Strikes a Chord in Our Town

NORTH LIBERTY, Iowa – Small specialty shops continue to pop up all around North Liberty. Just one of these locally owned businesses is 965 Guitars.

Owner Darwin Lindahl moved to the area and thought his guitar shop would make a good fit. 965 Guitars opened its doors last year, and is quickly expanding. Now in addition to selling everything from pedals and amps to the guitars themselves, 12 people also take lessons from the shop. In addition, Lindahl's French bulldog Swag greets customers as a sort of mascot for the shop.

Lindahl said the community has made it easy for business owners to chase their dreams. He adds, "The community here is awesome. They're very supportive. They want you to succeed. That's not the case in a lot of different places, but they really, really want you to succeed."
