DES MOINES - Democratic presidential candidate Barack
Obama will make a campaign stop in Iowa on Thursday.
According to the Des Moines Register, Obama will headline a
late-afternoon public rally in Des Moines, though the exact time
and place have not been released.
It will be Obama's first campaign stop in Iowa since late
August. Republican rival John McCain has made three stops in the
state since mid-September.
Obama aides told the Register that the campaign's pre-caucus
organization in Iowa allowed Obama to concentrate on other
battleground states.
The Register reports that Obama has four times the paid staff in
Iowa that McCain has, and 34 more campaign offices statewide.
