DES MOINES - Senator John McCain is reportedly planning his first visit to Iowa since the caucuses in January.

The Des Moines Sunday Register reports McCain will headline a health care forum in Des Moines Thursday afternoon.

McCain is the presumptive Republican presidential nominee. His Iowa Chairman says the visit could indicate that Iowa will be as competitive in the fall election as it was in 2000 and 2004.

Campaign and party officials say Thursday's event is open to the public.
