The new director of the Iowa Department of Education, Jason Glass, talks about what he wants to reform about the state's system of teaching and learning. The Christian Science Monitor named Glass as one of the eight top reformers in education to watch in 2011. Glass answers questions submitted by Eastern Iowa educators and covers a range of topics including universal funding of preschool, pay for performance, raising standardized test scores, and addressing the complex needs of students living in poverty.
