The Cedar Valley Humane Society has a new executive director. Last month, the shelter's executive board fired two co-directors and multiple staff members without any public explanation.

Zach Melton started this Monday. Melton recently moved to the area and started working there as a consultant a few weeks ago. He previously managed a twenty-four hour animal hospital in Denver, Colorado.

He says he knows the Humane Society has a lot to overcome and needs to work on improving its reputation in the community.
