Rider Hurt After Snowmobile Hits Cow

CASTALIA, Iowa - A Fayette man was hurt Sunday night when the snowmobile he was riding hit a cow. Kevin J. Mack, 49, of Fayette was southbound on a snowmobile trail at 3728 Birch Road, south of Castalia, at 6:49 p.m. Sunday when a cow entered the trail and was struck by the snowmobile, according to reports from the Fayette County Sheriff's Office. Mack was taken by ambulance to Palmer Lutheran Health Center in West Union with injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
