DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — A Des Moines robbery victim told police she grew up with one of the robbers who broke into her home.

The Des Moines Register is reporting that the break-in robbery occurred about 4 a.m. Wednesday.

Twenty-nine-year-old Ericka Hayes says three men had pulled shirts over their faces. One of them pointed at gun at her and demanded money.

Hayes says she pulled the shirt off the face of one of the robbers. She recognized him, although she hadn't seen him for years.

Hayes says she asked him why he was robbing her. He told her to shut up, then used a gun to hit her in the face.

The men then left. It's unclear whether they got away with any money or goods.

No arrests have been reported.
