Police: Connecticut Man Left Baby in Car to Fight
BRANFORD, Connecticut (AP) — A Connecticut man has been arrested after police said he left his baby in a car to fight with another man.
Police said 22-year-old Douglas Trofatter of Branford was arrested Tuesday after an altercation with another man over a domestic dispute.
Police said Trofatter jumped out of a car, leaving his 8-month-old child inside. However, police said Trofatter did not set the parking brake and the rolled away in a parking lot.
Authorities said it traveled 50 feet hitting another vehicle and coming to a stop. Police arrested Trofatter and charged him with risk of injury to a minor and breach of peace. He was being held on $5,000 bond.
Police said the baby was not hurt.
It was unclear if Trofatter had hired an attorney.
