ALLIANCE, Ohio (AP) — An Ohio snow plow chased a suspected purse snatcher for 30 minutes, eventually prompting the fleeing driver to call police to his rescue.

Plow driver John Shuman told The Repository newspaper of Canton he became suspicious Wednesday night when a man tugged down his hood in a Walmart parking lot in nearby Alliance.

When the man allegedly grabbed a woman's purse, Shuman gave pursuit.

The plow driver called 911. Police say 18-year-old Cody Bragg of Alliance also dialed 911, complaining he was being chased and had been mistaken for the purse snatcher.

Bragg was charged with robbery and theft. Bond was set Friday at $50,000.

No attorney is listed for him in court records.
