ROCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — Police in Rochester, N.H., say they have cracked the case of a woman accused of shoplifting 14 live lobsters.
Authorities arrested 26-year-old Meghan Whitcomb of Gonic on Wednesday morning.
Police say they were led to her home after receiving tips from people who had seen the surveillance photo released Monday that shows a woman pushing a shopping cart near the front of the Milton Road Market Basket grocery store.
Police say the woman entered the store Friday afternoon and asked for a selection of lobster from the clerk in the seafood department and then left without paying.
Foster's Daily Democrat reports that police say Whitcomb had outstanding arrest warrants for shoplifting at a nearby Wal-Mart and for reckless operation of a vehicle. Police say they do not know if Whitcomb has a lawyer.
