Brady Smith arrived at KCRG-TV9 in July 2013. He has lived in Coralville, Marion and Cedar Rapids throughout his time in the Eastern Iowa Corridor. Before he started at KCRG-TV9, he spent two years as a gym manager and instructor at Farrell’s eXtreme Bodyshaping.
Brady grew up in Jewell, Iowa, which is far too close to Cyclone country, according to many of his Hawkeye-loving friends. His first on-air job was at WDIO-TV in Duluth, Minnesota, shortly after he graduated from Wartburg College in 2006. There, he got a taste of reporting and the occasional stint behind the anchor desk. After two years in Duluth, Brady and his wife Molly moved back to Iowa, where he joined KWWL-TV, serving as a reporter in their Iowa City bureau office. He also spent a year anchoring the evening shows on the weekends.
In his time off, Brady enjoys being outdoors with his two German shepherds, and staying physically active. He still instructs classes at Farrell’s, and enjoys running (when it’s not too hot or too cold). He also enjoys movies, and his favorite superhero happens to be Batman, if you’re wondering.
Brady and his wife Molly have a boy, Liam, who was born in March 2013.
Brady anchors the KCRG-TV9 Saturday & Sunday Morning News, and reports during the week.
