Blowing snow is creating white out conditions, especially in rural areas. Another problem is drifting snow on roadways. Plows are back on the road in many places, but tow bans are still in place.
Many highways look like junkyards after conditions last night caused many drivers to go off the road. Among the dozens of accidents reported to KCRG-TV9 are a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 218 near Waverly as well as along Highway 150 near Maynard. If you are traveling and become stranded, do not leave your vehicle.
Temperatures early Monday will generally be -10 to -15, with dangerously cold wind chills falling to -30 to -40. Monday afternoon will offer no meaningful relief, since highs will remain below zero and winds will continue to blow at 15 to 30 mph.
Stay with the KCRG-TV9 First Alert Storm Team for additional updates.
