DUBUQUE, Iowa — The actor who played "Chandler" on the NBC sitcom "Friends" has become an investor in the new Field of Dreams project in Dyersville.

Matthew Perry has joined a group of investors, which includes Hall of Famer Wade Boggs, as part of Go the Distance Baseball, LLC, the private investment and holding company that owns the Field of Dreams Movie site in Dyersville, Iowa.

Perry's investment also includes the future All-Star Ballpark Heaven, a national youth baseball and softball tournament and training campus, to be completed in 2014. The facility will be located on land adjacent to the movie site.

Perry currently stars in the NBC hit, "Go On," as sports radio talk show host, Ryan King.

"'Field of Dreams' has always been one of my favorite movies and having a chance to do just about anything with Wade Boggs is a dream come true for me," said Perry. "I'm looking forward to helping make this a place where young ball players from all over the country can come and make their dreams come true, too. And, if we hear voices coming from the cornfields we'll be sure to follow any and all instructions."
