Woman's Vehicular Homicide Trial Reset Again

  • Photo
IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) The trial of an Iowa City woman accused of running over and killing a friend has been pushed back again.

The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports 50-year-old Miranda Lalla's trail has been moved to May after her attorney requested a continuance. The trial was scheduled to start in February after it was reset in October.

Lalla is charged with vehicular homicide while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. She is accused of hitting 44-year-old Pamela Gross with her pickup truck in June after the women got into a physical fight in a parking lot.

Lalla's attorney did not immediately return a message Thursday.

If convicted, Lalla faces up to 50 years in prison.
