Woman Denies Threats in Coach's Case
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - A woman who supports a fired Des Moines football coach denies threatening a school official who investigated the coach's case.
Carol Tiernan-Williams was accused last year of emailing Amanda Easton and posting on Facebook about her. Easton, who works at Lincoln High School, reported the incidents to authorities.
Tiernan-Williams is the administrator of a group that supports the reinstatement of Tom Mihalovich, a former coach who was dismissed after an investigation determined he broke policies for bullying, harassment and corporal punishment.
Tiernan-Williams told The Des Moines Register that she's the one who has been wronged, saying her calls and emails to Easton regarding Mihalovich were ignored.
Police say they warned Tiernan-Williams last year to stop sending messages. She's been charged with third-degree harassment.
