Woman Accused of Stabbing Boyfriend, Again
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - A Cedar Rapids woman is accused of stabbing her boyfriend. Again.
Cedar Rapids police were called to 906 C. Ave. NW at 8 p.m. Sunday for a report of a stabbing. Responding officers found a bloodied 41-year-old Lawrence Booth in front of the apartment building and 54-year-old Gwendolyn L. Postley inside.
Police said Booth and Postley had gotten into a verbal argument that turned physical. Postley cut Booth's arms and stabbed him in the chest, police said. Court document state the knife was more than six inches long.
Booth was taken to St. Luke's Hospital for treatment of his injuries, which court documents describe as serious.
Postley was arrested and is charged with willful injury and assault while displaying a dangerous weapon.
The couple was involved in a similar incident in January. Police said Postley cut Booth with a knife, leaving a 12-inch laceration on his left forearm.
Police said both Postley and Booth were drunk at the time of that incident. Postley was charged with domestic assault while displaying a dangerous weapon at the time. In February, she entered into a plea arrangement and the no contact order that had been in place was lifted.
