Western Dubuque Biodiesel Plant Stops Production
FARLEY, Iowa - An eastern Iowa biodiesal plant has stopped production while waiting for the biodiesel market to improve.
The Des Moines Register is reporting Western Dubuque Biodiesel in Farley is idle while politicians consider the Environmental Protection Agency proposal to reduce the amount of ethanol required to be added to blended gasoline.
Western Dubuque Biodiesel continues to pay workers to do maintenance, cleaning and training. A company representative said it could remain idle for a few months before it would need to lay off workers.
