Man Arrested After Reportedly Chest-Bumping Firefighter
WEST DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — A West Des Moines man has been accused of chest bumping a firefighter who was trying to stop flooding inside his apartment building.
Fire officials responded Wednesday night to an apartment building that had water pouring from the ceiling, causing about a foot of water to accumulate on the ground.
Authorities say 56-year-old Gregory Dean Watson, an apartment resident, yelled at a firefighter trying to shut off the water. He is accused of chest bumping the firefighter and threatening to fight him.
A firefighter held Watson down on the ground before local police arrived and arrested him.
The Des Moines Register reports Watson has been charged with public intoxication and interference with official acts. Court records do not list an attorney.
