Waterloo Woman Charged with Murder Following Stabbing in September
WATERLOO, Iowa - A Waterloo woman has been charged with murder in connection with a September stabbing.
On Sept. 29, Waterloo police officers were called to 1266 W. Mullan Ave. for a report of a stabbing. They found 29-year-old John L. Bass, of Waterloo, suffering from a single stab wound to the chest. Bass died later that day.
As a result of their investigation, police said Tuesday that 39-year-old Keisha L. Magee has been charged with first-degree murder.
Witnesses reported to police that Magee came to 1266 W. Mullan Ave. looking for Bass. Magee was told Bass was not there, but she went into the home and had a confrontation with him. Police said Magee grabbed a knife in the kitchen and stabbed Bass in the chest.
Magee has been in custody since the day after the stabbing. Her bond has been set at $1 million. If convicted of first-degree murder, Magee faces a mandatory life sentence.
