Waterloo Schools Name New Superintendent
WATERLOO, Iowa - During a meeting Friday afternoon, the Waterloo Community School Board named Dr. Jane Lindaman as the new superintendent of Waterloo Schools.
Dr. Lindaman's contract begins July 1, 2014. She is currently the Associate Superintendent of Educational Services and has been an administrator with the Waterloo Schools since 2005. She replaces Dr. Gary Norris who recently announced his plan to retire the end of June.
“I’m excited to serve the district in this new capacity. I’ve served in Waterloo as a principal, director and associate superintendent, and I think that has provided me with a great foundation. I’m committed to high achievement and to meeting the needs of all students," Dr. Lindaman said in a press release. Waterloo Schools is about options and meeting students where they are and helping them be successful. We have great things started, and those will continue. My focus is on implementing initiatives successfully."
She joined Waterloo Schools in 2005 as Bunger Middle School principal. The following year she became the Director of Learning and Results and Middle School Education for the district. Since 2010, Dr. Lindaman has been in her current position.
