Waterloo Teens Charged with Carrying Guns

    Two Waterloo teenagers are in jail after police found a loaded guns in their car.

    At 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, members of the Waterloo Police Department's Violent Crime Apprehension Team made a traffic stop in the area of Logan Avenue in Conger Street. The driver was identified as 17-year-old Nathaniel T. Matlock and his passenger was 19-year-old James E. Horton.

    Police said they searched the vehicle and found a loaded .25 semi-automatic handgun under Matlock's seat and a loaded .22 caliber revolver under Horton's seat. Both men were taken into custody for carrying weapons and booked at the Black Hawk County Jail.
