WASHINGTON, Iowa - A Washington crash killed an Ottumwa man while injuring three others.

Before 2 p.m. Wednesday, Washington police officers said Samuel Orris, 80, of Washington ran a stop sign in his 2010 Kia Soul at the intersection of Highway 1 and Lexington Boulevard in Washington. He ran into a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven by Kathryn Toomire, 72, of Ottumwa.

Washington County Ambulance transported four patients from the crash to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City and Washington County Hospital. A passenger in the PT Cruiser, Robert Toomire, 79, also of Ottumwa, died at UIHC.
