JOHNSTON, Iowa (AP) - The Iowa National Guard says a World War II-era tank is being installed at its military museum in Johnston.

The M-4 Sherman tank will be installed Wednesday in front of the Iowa Gold Star Military Museum at Camp Dodge.

The vehicle had been situated at the camp's tank park since 1958. It was replaced in 2012 with a newer tank and has been undergoing refurbishment.

Iowa soldiers used this tank, manufactured late in World War II, for training between 1947 and 1957. Officials say it probably was not used in combat.
